In California, electrical work above a certain scope requires a licensed C-10 Electrical Contractor. This isn't just bureaucracy — it's protection for you.
A licensed electrician has passed state testing, carries liability insurance, and is accountable to the Contractors State License Board. If something goes wrong with unlicensed work, your homeowner's or landlord's insurance may deny the claim entirely.
